A battle in Winston between two of the top Class 4A programs headlines Friday night football action in Douglas County.

Douglas (1-0) goes after its second straight win to start the season against visiting La Salle Prep (0-1). Last week, the Trojans beat Cottage Grove 53-7. Meanwhile, the Falcons were beaten by McKinley, Hawaii 43-22.

Nine other local teams take to the field Friday as Roseburg (1-0) travels to Sprague (1-0); South Umpqua (0-1) plays host to North Valley (1-0); Sutherlin (0-1) entertains Cottage Grove (0-1); Glide (1-0) is at Harrisburg (1-0); Reedsport (0-1) goes to Neah-Kah-Nie (1-0); Days Creek (0-1) is on the road with Prospect (1-0); North Douglas (0-1) hosts Myrtle Point (0-0); Oakland plays its season opener against visiting Central Linn (1-0); and Elkton (0-1) opens league play at home with Gilchrist.
