Siuslaw scored 34 consecutive points enroute to a 48-18 win over South Umpqua during a Far West League football game Friday night in Tri City.The Lancers (0-1, 1-4) played well early and trailed 14-12 midway through the second quarter when sophomore quarterback Erik Johnson scored an 8-yard TD run.
In the final six minutes of the first half, the second-ranked Vikings (1-0, 4-0) turned a pair of SU turnovers into scores and stretched the lead to 35-12 at the break.
It was also a tough night for Douglas County's two other FWL teams as Douglas (0-1, 2-3) lost at North Bend 47-20 and Sutherlin (0-1, 1-4) was beaten by Brookings-Harbor 41-23.
Elsewhere, Roseburg's Teran Reedy scored three times in the Indians 45-6 win over South Eugene; Central Linn handed Glide (4-1) its first loss of the year 54-22; Oakland (2-2) lost to Coquille 35-21; Michael Tracy rushed for 230 yards and a touchdown as Riddle (3-1) upended Etna, CA 34-0; North Douglas was blanked by Rogue River 30-0; Glendale lost to Chiloquin 20-14; Camas Valley (4-0, 5-0) took care of Gilchrist 72-6; and Chemawa beat Days Creek 44-38 in overtime.
