The top two 1A football teams in in District 2 do battle Friday afternoon in Douglas County.

Defending state champion and top-ranked Camas Valley (4-0, 5-0) travels to Elkton (3-0, 3-1) with the winner taking over sole possession of first place in the league standings.

It's a full schedule of local action with Roseburg (1-2, 2-3) hosting South Medford (1-2, 3-2) in a key Southwest Conference game for both teams; Douglas (0-1, 2-3) welcomes Brookings-Harbor (1-0, 2-2); South Umpqua (0-1, 1-4) is at North Bend (1-0, 4-1); and Sutherlin (0-1, 1-4) plays top-ranked Siuslaw (1-0, 4-0) in Florence.

Glide (4-1) opens Sunset Conference action at home against Coquille (2-2); Reedsport (1-3) hosts a Special District 1 contest with Gold Beach (2-3); Yoncalla (1-1, 2-2) plays at Siletz Valley (1-1, 3-2); and Days Creek (1-3) is in Powers.

Friday night also marks the opening of the 2012 Mountain View Conference schedule as Oakland (2-2) goes to North Douglas (2-3); Riddle (3-1) entertains Oakridge (0-4); and Glendale (1-3) is at home with Monroe (1-3).
