Douglas_Upends_ElmiraDouglas scored 20 points in the third quarter and beat Elmira 27-9 in a Class 4A play-in game Friday night in Winston.

The game was tied 7-7 at halftime before the Trojans (6-4) took their first lead of the contest when Jordan Shaffer returned an interception 35 yards for a touchdown. James Simmons and Nate Vosika added TD runs to give Douglas a 27-7 lead heading into the final quarter.

Jake Heverly ran for a pair of first quarter touchdowns as Roseburg (5-5) cruised to a 55-14 victory over visting North Salem.

Senior quarterback Hayden Lent tossed two TD passes and ran for another score as the Indians qualified for next week's Class 6A state playoffs.

Elsewhere, Oakland downed Riddle 49-12; North Douglas blanked Glendale 45-0; Camas Valley improved to 9-0 with a 64-6 win over Powers; Elkton beat Hosanna Christian 54-26; and Yoncalla was a 40-0 winner over Mohawk.

There were a trio of non-league games involving local teams as Glide blew out Myrtle Point 55-6; Reedsport lost to Coquille 52-0; and Days Creek got by Chemawa 44-18.
