Miranda Mendenhall scored 15 points as Sutherlin won its 19th consecutive basketball game 54-35 over Brookings-Harbor.

Douglas (4-1, 10-8) stayed a game back after the Trojans beat North Bend 46-32; and South Umpqua (1-4, 6-11) earned its first league victory with a 50-44 win over Siuslaw. Olivia Gulliford scored 21 points and Alex Richey added 12 points for the Lancers.

In boys basketball, Taylor Jensen hit five three-pointers and finished with 24 points to lead Sutherlin to a 59-42 win against visiting Brookings-Harbor; and Brevin Ball and Austin Page each scored 18 points in South Umpqua's 58-40 victory over Siuslaw.
