South Umpqua used a 17-5 third quarter run to upend Sutherlin 60-55 in a Far West League basketball game on Friday night.

 

Sophomore Erik Johnson hit four three-pointers and scored 16 points; and senior Nathan Phillips added 15 as the Lancers (1-1, 8-6) earned their first league win of the season.

On the girls' side, Kylee Carson scored 15 points as top-ranked Sutherlin (2-0, 16-0) beat SU 73-27.
