Four Douglas County teams took part in Saturday's OSAA Cheerleading State Championships in Portland.

South Umpqua (56.25) finished in third place in the 4A Large division behind Sweet Home (66.75) and Klamath Union (60.58).

The team includes Emily Kelley, Jessica Brown, Britni Briggs, Cydney Gill, Amanda Robinson, Elicia Hedges, Danielle James, Megan Boye' Paige Powers, Resha Coggswell, Ashley Elias, Riley McCleskey, Rhianna Lawrence, Zara Baldwin, Caitlyn Voss and Daysha Jones.

Sutherlin took fifth in the 4A Small division; and Canyonville Christian was sixth among the 3A/2A/1A squads. Roseburg finished out of the top ten in the 6A/5A Large division.

The 2013 championships were held at Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Portland.
