Sutherlin's dream of a championship came to a quick end with a first round loss at the OSAA Class 4A boys basketball state tournament in Corvallis.

The Bulldogs (19-8) were beaten by North Valley 70-48 in a quarterfinal basketball game Tuesday night at Gill Coliseum.

Sutherlin held a 14-8 advantage in the second quarter, but North Valley (25-0) went on a 14-0 run and would never relinquished the lead.

Senior Taler Jensen led the Bulldogs with 14 points.
