Roseburg is expected to battle for the 2013 Southern Oregon Conference softball title.

The league's coaches picked defending state champion North Medford (15) to finish first just ahead of the Indians (14). The Black Tornado received three first-place votes, while RHS got two.

Grants Pass (9) finished third in the voting, followed by Crater (8) and South Medford (4).

Pitcher Makinna Akers leads an experienced Roseburg team that includes Megan Larkin (3B); Jacey Conklin (c); Sydney Reynolds (2B); and Allyssa Hunt (DH).
