Top-ranked Glide cruised into the Class 3A semifinals with a 14-3 win over visiting Blanchet Catholic on Friday afternoon.

Righthander Brenden Fricke picked up the win for the Wildcats (26-1) and led the offensive explosion with a home run and four RBI's.

Elsewhere, Jake Forrester tossed a no-hitter and struck out 17 batters as UVC blanked Kennedy 1-0 in a 2A/1A quarterfinal matchup; the Glide softball team was elminated from the postseason after suffering a 6-1 loss at Blanchet Catholic; Sutherlin suffered a 2-0 setback to Gladstone; Yoncalla beat Gaston 11-4; and Glendale downed Regis 5-3.
