Douglas High School is looking for a new head football coach.

Joe Polamalu has resigned from the position after accepting the head coaching job at Sandy High School. The Pioneers, a 5A school out of the Northwest Oregon Conference, finished the 2012 season with a record of 3-7.

Polamalu led the Trojans to playoff appearances in each of his five seasons in Winston, including a trip to the 2010 state championship game.

With the departure, Douglas becomes the third Far West League school that will have a new football coach next season. Offensive Coordinator Steve Stebbins takes over at South Umpqua and Sutherlin is searching for a replacement for Josh Gary, who stepped down earlier this year.
