Nine Roseburg athletes qualified for the upcoming OSAA state track and field meet in Eugene.

Freshman Mahala Norris set a school record in the 1500 meters and Kenny Freeman won the event on the boys side at the Southwest Conference district meet Saturday at Finlay Field.

Other qualifiers include pole vaulter Jason Bergold; Austin Hutchins and Gabrielle Kearney in the javelin; 800m runner Ben Rodriguez; triple jumper Kathryn Pitts; and the boys 4X400 relay team of Freeman, Rodriguez, Jason Thomas and Levi Holden.
