The Far West League's two-time Player of the Year has been named to the 2013 Class 4A softball all-state first team.

Douglas senior Sadie Birch (IF) was one of six local athletes selected with the other four earning honorable mention.

They include the Trojans' Ally Schofield (IF) and sophomore Justine Bringhurst (OF); and Sutherlin's Kelsea Knee (IF), Kylie Atterbury (IF) and senior Cheylin Malinof (P).

State champion Banks swept the top awards with Player of the Year Makenna Partain; Pitcher of the Year Kaylin Vandomelen; and Coach of the Year Jenny Compton.
