Douglas ruined Marshfield's inaugural game as a member of the Far West League with a 38-16 victory over the Pirates.

Marshfield jumped out to an early 6-0 lead after returning the opening kickoff for a touchdown. The lead was short lived as the Trojans (1-0, 2-1) tied the game in the first quarter and took the lead for good later in the first half.

Elsewhere, Erik Johnson ran for one score and threw a touchdown pass to Kristian Evans in a 28-21 loss at Siuslaw; and Sutherlin (1-0, 1-2) outscored Brookings-Harbor 44-37. Junior running back Raymon Henderson rushed for 230 yards and three touchdowns.
