Roseburg's conference battle with Sheldon headlines this week's action in local high school football.

Last Friday, the Indians (3-1, 5-1) suffered their first loss of the season in a 30-21 setback at South Medford. Now, Roseburg needs a win over the Irish (3-1, 4-2) to keep its league title hopes alive. Game time is set for 7:00PM in Eugene.

Douglas hosts North Bend (3-0, 5-1) in a key Far West League game in Winston. The Trojans (2-1, 4-2) are coming off 40-point loss at Siuslaw. South Umpqua (1-2, 3-3) looks to make it three straight wins when the Lancers head to Marshfield; and Sutherlin plays a non-league game at unbeaten Ashland.

Elsewhere, Glide (3-2) opens the Sunset Conference schedule at winless Coquille (0-5); Oakland (1-0, 6-0) hosts North Douglas (0-0, 1-4) in a Mountain View Conference matchup; Riddle (0-1, 0-6) travels to Oakridge (0-1, 2-4); Reedsport (4-1) is in Gold Beach; Yoncalla (2-1, 5-1) welcomes Siletz Valley (2-1, 2-2); and Days Creek (6-0) hosts Powers (3-2).

On Saturday, it's a battle of Douglas County in the Skyline League when top-ranked Camas Valley (5-0, 6-0) entertains Elkton (3-1, 4-2).
