Oakland's dream of winning back-to-back state championships ended Friday night in Stayton.

Peyton Mesa ran 62 yards for a touchdown on the first play from scrimmage to give the Oakers a 7-0 lead.

Regis (11-1) went on to score the next 28 points and never trailed again in the 44-19 quarterfinal win.

The Oakers finished the season 9-3.
