South Umpqua's lone qualifier at this year's OSAA Wrestling State Championships is unbeaten after day one in Portland.

Sophomore Derrick Hargraves (106) won both of his matches Friday, including a 9-6 victory over number one seed Braxton Sue of Scappoose.

Hargraves will wrestle fourth-ranked Francisco Barrera of Ontario in a semifinal round match on Saturday.

Defending state champion Glide (70) is in second place behind Vale (73) after day one of the 3A championships.
