South Umpqua's Derrick Hargraves was the only local wrestler to place at the 4A tournament and Glide won its second straight 3A state title Saturday night in Portland.

Hargraves (106) upset top-seed Braxton Sue in the quarterfinals, but lost to Sue 3-1 in the 3rd/4th place match.

Walker Damewood (145), Jake Forrester (152), Garret Short (160), William Beard (170) and Mikel Farley (195) captured individual crowns as the Wildcats (182.5) slipped by Vale (167) to win the 2014 championship.

Devin Freeman (138) and Alex Holland (152) took second place and Ryland Parazoo (106) was fifth.

The three local wrestlers that placed at the 2A/1A championships were Oakland's Angus Swan (2nd) and Colby DeVasier (4th); and Glendale's Ricky Esparza (3rd).
