The Douglas County Express 14U and 12U teams were in action Sunday in Roseburg, along with Cal Ripken's collected Umpqua Valley All Stars tournament squad.

The DC Express 14U settled for a doubleheader split with visiting Henley at Sunshine Park in Roseburg, as the visitors scored four runs in the sixth inning for an 11-9 win in the opener.

In the nightcap, DC's Justin Grinstead notched two hits and four RBI for the Express to lead the way in an 11-4 drubbing of Henley. Sean Winn recorded seven strikeouts and gave up no earned runs to pick up the win on the mound for DC.

At Roseburg's Gaddis Park, a three-team tripleheader saw both the DC Express 12U team and the Umpqua Valley All Stars taking on the visiting Southern Oregon Giants, with the All Stars winning and the Express losing to their south state rival.

The two local teams then squared off, with DC Express 12U defeating the UV All Stars 5-3 in the third game.
