The Roseburg Hitmen, a local club baseball team featuring players ages 13 and younger, won four games over the Memorial Day weekend to take home their bracket's title in the NW Nations Memorial Day Challenge in Hillsboro Saturday and Sunday.

The Hitmen won the first game of Saturday pool play 9-4 over the Outlaws of Booney Lake, WA, and then took care of the BG Shockers of Battleground, WA, with an 8-0 shutout victory. Of the ten teams in the tournament, the Hitmen scored the top seed after pool play by allowing the fewest amount of runs scored against them.

In Gold Division bracket play Sunday, the Hitmen won a first round match-up against Wilsonville's NW Diamond-Black squad, 6-3. In the championship game, Roseburg defeated the Mound Time Oncelers of Hillsboro 3-1 to take home the first-place trophy.

The Roseburg Hitmen roster includes Trent Avery, Cameron Benzel, Gabe Burke, Noah Burke, Brenden Huffman, Thomas LeCoure, Jacob Luther, Zacharyiah Mandera, Caleb Parks, Kaden Seely, Collin Warmouth, & Austin West. The Hitmen are coached by Brian West & Mike Morin.
