The Glide baseball team is headed to the OSAA Class 3A state championship game.

Junior Jacob Fricke struck out 11 batters in the Wildcats' 3-0 win over Valley Catholic Tuesday afternoon in Beaverton.

Devin Freeman scored the first run of the game when Tylan Dubois singled him home in the fifth inning. Glide added to the lead in the top of the sixth with a pair of runs on an error and an RBI single by Joe Hanson.

"This is a group of gutty competitors that know how to win," head coach Al Skinner said.

Next up, the Wildcats (24-3) take on Cascade Christian Friday at Volcanoes Stadium in Keizer.
