Roseburg's Indian Fastpitch softball squad is playing in the ASA 14B Western National Tournament at Medford's US Cellular Community Park. The tournament age bracket is 14 and under.

Roseburg's first game of pool play is Tuesday, July 28, at 1p.m. against Long Beach Heartwell of Lakewood, CA. Win or lose, the Indians will play at 1p.m. Wednesday against either Magic Black of Cupertino (CA) or Eastvale of Riverside (CA).

The tournament, presented by the City of Medford and coordinated by the city's Parks and Recreation Department, boasts 30 teams. Roseburg is joined by five other Oregon teams, including the state champion Silver Bullets from Portland and state runner-up Grants Pass. California has 20 teams in the tourney, most hailing from the Los Angeles area. Teams from Washington round out the field, including state champ Ellensburg Synergy.

Double-elimination bracket play starts July 31 after the two-day pool play is completed and the championship game is at 1p.m. August 3.
