Douglas County Fastpitch 16-and-under swept its opponents and won its pool Thursday at the Junior Olympic Fast Pitch Girls' B 16-Under Western National Championships in Gillette, Wyoming.

DC took care of Chino, CA, in the opening game 11-8 at Bicentennial Park Thursday morning and then outlasted Adrenaline White of Rocky Mountain, CO, 10-9 in the afternoon game. The victories advance the team into bracket play as a #1 seed on Friday. (There are three pools of four teams competing.)

DC, coached by Brad Deaver, continues its tournament winning streak, winning its last eight games in a row. The team won the Oregon State ASA 16U 'B' championship in early July, followed by four straight wins at the Northwest Regional Tournament to take that title as well.

Douglas County Fastpitch is a local softball team age 16-and-under made of players from Douglas, Glide and South Umpqua high schools.
