High school practice fields across Oregon are bustling with athletes.

According to the Oregon School Activities Association (OSAA), Monday, August 18 was the first official practice date for the upcoming fall sports season.

The initial contest date for volleyball, soccer and cross country is set for Thursday, August 28.

Meanwhile, the 2014 football season kicks off Friday, September 4.
