COOS BAY, Ore. -- The 35th Annual Prefontaine Memorial Run wrapped up another season at last weekend’s Bay Area Fun Festival.

More than 800 people ran legendary Olympian Steve Prefontaine’s famous route from start to finish.

24-year old Jared Bassett of Bend finished first on the men's side. A two-time winner having also won in 2008, Bassett is originally from Coos Bay. He finished the run with a time of 32:11 (clocking a 5 minute, 11 second mile pace).

18-year old Benjamin Rodriguez of Roseburg came in second (34:54) and Roseburg's Brad Ferner, 20, finished third (35:41). Sam Settlemeyer of Roseburg took home seventh, whicle Winston's Austin Baker came in 11th.

14-year old Sailor Hutton of Bandon won the women's division with a 40:50 time (6:35 pace). 55-year old Jane Stamper Holland of Coos Bay finished second.

The 10K was preceded by the Prefontaine Memorial 5K road race. The boy's team from Roseburg took first place out of the 12-team high school division, while Arcata took first in the high school girls division. The Roseburg team members included Weston Babb, Nicholas Feldkamp, Arlo Willhoft, Wyatt Mahaffy, David Harker, Wyatt Deck, and Soren Laney.

The boy's team from Oakland finished ninth. Runners on that team included Nathaniel Oberman, Nikolas Eyler, Bradley Yates, Zack Schissler, Nick Terrell, and Rogue Hartman.

On the girls side, Roseburg finished third out of 12 teams with a team of Jenna Anderson, Rebecca Sidlo, Kily Gilbert, Adrienne Powell, Alexandra Di Rezze, Jaysie Fox, and Kailee Dombrowski.

The Sutherlin girls finished sixth, featuring Camerin Feagins, Baylee Merrifield, Brittany Hanson, Olivia Gulliford, Ricki Mock, Emma Matteo, and Vanessa Crite.
