Roseburg evened its conference record at 1-1 with a 21-19 win over visiting Willamette Friday night at Finlay Field.

The game was tied at 13 when the Indians (1-1, 2-2) pushed across the go-ahead score late in the fourth quarter. The Wolverines (0-2, 0-4) got within two points, but the Roseburg defense was able to thwart the two-point conversion attempt.

South Umpqua opened its Far West League season with a 27-21 victory over Siuslaw.

Quarterback Erik Johnson threw touchdown passes to Cameron Everett and Nathan Thompson as SU improves to 1-0 in league and 3-1 overall.
