The Sutherlin Bulldogs fell behind 6-0 midway through the first quarter and Elmira gradually pulled away from the Bulldogs, picking up a 43-13 Sky-Em League win. The Falcons led 18-0 at halftime and never trailed against the Bulldogs, who fell to 0-2 in league play, 1-4 overall. Sutherlin's Taelor Carson was 13-for-23 passing for 195 yards with a touchdown. Wryland McKnight had eight catches for 137 yards, including a touchdown. Ray Henderson had 42 yards on 13 carries, scoring one touchdown.
South Umpqua's Kyler Merritt had four touchdowns (three rushing and one interception return) to lead the Lancers to a 48-22 win over Brookings-Harbor on the road in the Far West League. SU is 4-1 overall heading into next week's showdown at North Bend.
Elsewhere, the Roseburg Indians sturggled against Sheldon, suffering a 34-7 drubbing.
