Both teams enter the contest with league records of 1-2 and in a fourth place tie with Thurston and Willamette. The Indians (2-3 overall) are coming off a 34-7 loss at Sheldon, while the Panthers (3-2 overall)were blown out by Grants Pass 52-0.

Elsewhere, South Umpqua (2-0, 4-1) battles North Bend (2-0, 5-0) for first place in the Far West League; Douglas (0-2, 0-5) hosts Brookings-Harbor (0-2, 0-5) in a matchup of winless teams; Sutherlin (0-2, 1-4) hosts Cottage Grove (0-2, 0-5); Glide (0-1, 2-3)is at home with La Pine (0-1, 1-4); Oakland (2-0, 3-2) plays a Mountain View Conference game at Lost River (3-0, 4-1); Riddle (1-2, 1-4) is in Oakridge (2-0, 5-0); and Reedsport (0-1, 3-2) hosts Gold Beach (1-0, 5-0).

There's a full slate of 1A action as Yoncalla (2-0, 4-1) welcomes North Douglas (1-1, 3-2) in a battle of Douglas County teams; Days Creek (1-1, 3-1) travels to Powers (2-0, 4-1); Elkton (0-2,0-4) entertains Glendale (0-2, 1-4); and Camas Valley (2-0, 2-1) plays a Saturday game with Butte Falls (1-1, 1-4).
