Five South Umpqua seniors capped off a memorable season by being named to The Oregonian's all-state second team.
Tanner Pence (DL), Trevor Duffy (DL), Erik Johnson (P), Jordan McDevitt (OL) and Cameron Everett (TE) were recognized after helping the Lancers to an 8-win season and a trip to the OSAA 4A quarterfinals.
State Champion Gladstone swept the top honors with Handsome Smith (RB) and Zach Smith (LB) being named Player of the Year on offensive and defense. Meanwhile, Gladstone's Jon Jedrykowski was the state's Coach of the Year.
The all-state teams were determined by a vote of the state's coaches and compiled by The Oregonian's high school sports staff.
