South Umpqua erased an 11-point first half deficit to beat North Valley 72-65 during the championship game at the Holiday Invitational in Grants Pass.

Senior Erik Johnson hit six three-pointers and scored a game-high 34 points as the Lancers handed North Valley (4-1) its first loss of the season.

Junior Nathan Thompson (12) and sophomore Cody Gray (10) also finished in double figures as SU improved its record to 6-1. Click here to listen to Saturday's broadcast of the game.

Elsewhere, the top-ranked Sutherlin girls stayed perfect on the season with a 68-31 victory over Molalla in the title game at the North Marion tournament.

The Bulldogs are now 8-0.
