South Umpqua opened the Far West League season with a 66-43 win over Douglas Friday night in Tri City.

Erik Johnson scored a game-high 27 points and juniors Nathan Thompson and Alex Kelly finished with eight points apiece as the Lancers improved to 11-3 on the season.

Robinson Parker led the Trojans (0-1, 5-8) with 12 points.
