The Douglas softball team won its opening round playoff game on Wednesday.

The 10th-ranked Trojans (20-5) upset #7 Gladstone 4-3 on the Gladiators home field in eight innings. Next up, Douglas travels to second-ranked McLoughlin (25-1).

Elsewhere, North Douglas beat Kennedy 6-3; Glide suffered a 12-4 loss at Vale; Oakland lost to Weston-McEwen 9-2; Pilot Rock blanked Riddle 12-0; and Reedsport was beaten by Bonanza 3-2.

The fourth-ranked Glide baseball team rolled to a 14-3 playoff win over visting Vale.

Lefthander Jacob Fricke struck out 10 batters over five innings of shutout baseball. Tylan Dubois went 4-for-4 with four RBI's and Devin Freeman had three hits and three RBI's in the win. 

The Wildcats (22-3) host Horizon Christian (19-6) on Friday.
