The Glide baseball team is celebrating its chance to repeat as state 3A champions following a 4-1 win over Cascade Christian in the semifinals Tuesday in Medford.

The victory puts the Wildcats (24-3) in the state championship game Friday at Volcanoes Stadium in Keizer where they'll face off against Santiam Christian.

The Glide offense did some early damage when leadoff man Devin Freeman tripled off the wall and later scored on a fielder's choice.

In the 2nd inning, William Beard homered to to put the the Cats up 2-0.

Later, Glide scored on an RBI triple by Bryson Belloir. He would score later on a sacrifice fly by Tylan Dubois.

Senior starter Jacob Fricke went the distance for the win.
