The No. 1-seeded Oakland Oakers are OSAA's Class 2A football champs after a 46-32 win over Weston McEwen/Griswold in the championship game Saturday at Hillsboro Stadium.

The Oakers led 34-14 at the half, but the No. 7 Tigerscots closed out the game with a 18-6 fourth quarter run to pull with 14 points, but it wasn't enough as Oakland cruised to victory.

The state champ Oakers finish the season with a 12-1 record. Weston-McEwen finished with a 9-3 mark.

Oakland shuts out Heppner to reach 2A title game

HILLSBORO, Ore. - The No. 1-seeded Oakland football team has reached the OSAA 2A state championship game following a 26-0 shutout of Heppner in the semifinals Saturday.

Oakland will face No. 7 seed Weston-McEwen/Griswold, which defeated No. 3 Colton 31-30 on Saturday.

Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. Saturday at Hillsboro Stadium.

Oakers defeat Umatilla in semifinals

SUTHERLIN, Ore. - The top-seeded Oakland Oakers took care of business Saturday in their OSAA 2A football quarterfinal game against Umatilla.

The Oakers defeated the Vikings 32-14 at Sutherlin High School to advance to the semfinals where they'll face #4 Heppner.

Prior to Saturday's game, Oakland defeated Clatskanie 56-14 in the first round.

The Oakers are 10-1 overall, winning the Special District 3 conference title with a perfect 7-0 record.

Saturday's quarterfinal game against Heppner kicks off at 2:15 p.m. at Hillsboro Stadium.
