The Umpqua Valley Christian baseball team has forfeited six victories due to the use of an ineligible player.

The Oregon School Activities Association, which handed down the penalty and a $100 fine, was informed of the infraction from school administrators at UVC.

"The moment we found out about it, we reported it," Monarchs head coach Dave York said. "The issue involved one of our players not having enough credited classes in the last quarter."

Umpqua Valley Christian forfeited all games between March 19 and April 10. On the field, the Monarchs are 4-0 in league; and 9-2-1 overall.

After the penalty, UVC is now 4-1 in District 4; and 5-8 on the season.
