Douglas County is home to the best 2A/1A high school band in the state of Oregon.

On Thursday, Riddle High School was crowned the champion in the small schools division at the OSAA Band/Orchestra State Championships.

Riddle, under the direction of Martin Folloce, scored 292 points to finish in front of Triad of Klamath Falls (290); and Portland Christian (286).

The event was held at the LaSells Stewart Center on the campus of Oregon State University in Corvallis.
