docs_world_series.jpgRoseburg's run at a 2010 American Legion World Series baseball title is over after the Docs were eliminated by Eden Prairie, Minnesota 6-2 Monday night at Avista Stadium in Spokane, Washington.

The Minnesota state champions broke open a 1-1 tie with three runs in the third inning; and stretched the lead to 5-1 with a single run in the fourth.

Vince Ampi blasted a solo home run in the seventh inning to get Roseburg back within three runs, but that's as close as Dr. Stewart's would get the rest of the way.

Ampi finished the game with three hits, while teammates John Farrington; Austin Stone and Brandon Jackson each had a pair of base hits.

The Docs completed the season with an overall record of 35-15.
