ampi_081510.jpgVince Ampi hit a three-run homer and Dakota Cavens pitched three and two-thirds innings of hitless baseball to lead Dr. Stewart's to a 9-7 win over Moline, Illinois Sunday afternoon at the American Legion World Series in Spokane. 

Trailing 5-1 entering the bottom of the fifth inning, the Docs (35-14) scored six times to take a 7-5 advantage. Moline tied the game with a pair of runs in the sixth, but Roseburg answered with two runs of its own in the bottom of the inning. 

Cameron Newell had three hits for the Docs, while teammates Mitch Huff; Josh Graham and Ampi each added a pair of base hits.

With the win, Roseburg will take on Eden Prairie, MN, at 7pm Monday night at Avista Stadium. The Docs lost to the Minnesota champs 13-6 during the first day of the tournament.. Eden Prairie has won all three of its World Series games.
