The Douglas softball team is getting some respect from coaches around the state.

The Trojans (1-2) received 17 votes and are ranked seventh in the initial Class 4A coaches poll of the 2011 season.

Cascade topped the rankings with 60 votes; followed by Banks (54); Mazama (48); Central (41); Henley (27); Ontario (22); Douglas (17); Gladstone (12); McLoughlin (11); and Madras (6).

 Defending Far West League champion Sutherlin (0-0) was 14th in the March 28 poll.
